These notes support the lectures on the courses listed above. They are not intended to be a stand-alone teaching resource. Because web pages, particularly images, load slowly under most usual circumstances I have kept the penetration of images to a minimum. I have also restricted the use of properly typeset maths as this takes an enormous amount of time and resource to prepare, and with existing technology for web transfer is not particularly practicable. One of the objectives of these resources is to be readily available to anyone using a keyword search in the standard engines and indexing resources. To prepare the pages in MSWord or PDF format would hinder this intent.
I feel that the English language is fully able to convey most of the difficult concepts in microwave engineering supported only by very limited mathematics. Thus the pages here are different in style and content to the many very excellent texts listed elsewhere in this resource. They should be used as an adjunct to the complete and excellent descriptions in these textbooks; I have tried to limit myself to remarks where I feel I have taken a different insight to the standard texts, or else something significant to say, either more succinctly or in a more self-evident manner.
Most of the intended content of the courses will be evident from the collection of worked examples and problems. If you can understand these and work similar problems then these resources and the lectures will have achieved their objective. I do not claim that the notes listed here will give the novice sufficient information and skill to work the problems without reference to the texts or other resources.
