31st May 2001. Our birds are developing well. Here is a view of nest box 1 this morning.
Box 1 birds at 14 days from hatching

On the 4th June (Monday) the birds are ready

Fledging did not occur until day 20, Wednesday 6th June. The female bird disappeared on the evening of Friday 1st June, and the fledglings spent the remaining nights on their own. We have not seen her since; perhaps she fell prey to something after the many nights safety inside the box.
